Networking (eller “Netværking” på dansk :-0)
– er jo ikke noget nyt, vi har altid gjort det – måske er der bare kommet mere og mere fokus på fordelene ved at systematisere selve akten, som både tid og penge er blevet en knaphedsfaktor!?

Internettet har helt sikkert også haft en bestemmende indflydelse, idet hele verden jo nu kun er et click på tastaturet væk – og dermed også konkurrenter, som man ikke har skulle tage samme hensyn til tidligere.

Før var det nok at være specialisten i sin egen lille “andedam” – hvor nu kan man meget lettere risikere at blive udkonkurreret af nogen fra den anden ende af verden!

Som Jerry Garcia fra “Grateful Death” sagde;

“Det er ikke nok at være den bedste til det du gør – du er nødt til at være den eneste, der gør det du gør”
+ man er nødt til at være synlig og troværdig, samt få et godt forhold til både eksisterende og potentielle kunder!
Altså via netværking!!!

Man siger jo: “People do Business with People – not with the companies”
– altså handler det i bund og grund om at skabe relationer!!!

Der findes mange former for networking:
– både off- & online, nationalt / internationalt, i åbne og lukkede fora, køns- og/eller branche-bestemt osv. osv.

Fælles for alle er dog:

  • branding
  • synlighed
  • sparring
  • vidensdeling
  • relationsbygning

Network Types

Vi netværker ikke alle på samme måde!

Det er derfor en god idé, for det første at kende sin egen “netværkstype” – og for det andet, at kunne genkende de andre typer, så man ikke så let misforstår deres måde at netværke på, og dermed riskerer kun at netværke med sin egen type – hvilket i sidste ende kunne udmøntes i at man opbygger et netværk omkring sig, af folk man ikke lærer andet af, end det man selv kan i forvejen 😉

En netværks-kollega, har begået denne beskrivelse af netværks-typerne (med tak oversat af Tyge Mortensen), som illustrerer forskellene meget godt:

Den passive og negative type ønsker som regel ikke at netværke.
De kan have en følelse af at miste noget ved ikke at netværke, men deres “jeg alene i verden”-indstilling er som regel nok for dem.

Den konservative type vil gerne netværke, men kun med mennesker som de har en tidsmæssig lang forbindelse med (ex. medlemmer af den samme klub) eller hvis tillid man har fået over lang tid. Du når ikke nemt ind til disse typer.

Den reaktive type vil være åben overfor nye tiltag, og specielt netværksarrangementer – men vil være selektiv, og som regel have lyst til at beholde en form for kontrol over sit netværk – de udvider ikke sit netværk af sig selv.

Den proaktive type “krydser comfort zonen” og søger at udvide sit netværk efter eget initiativ – men er selektiv overfor hvilke projekter de indvier folk i. Fokus er på kvalitet eller prioriteter, og de tager selv ansvar.

Den hyperaktive type netværker med alt og alle, om alt – og tror på at kvantitet, og tilfældige forbindelser, fører et eller andet med sig.
Kvantitet og energi er to karaktertræk, men mindre fokuseret på prioriteter. Der er en tendens til hastighed uden retning.

Igen af typerne er selvfølgelig bedre end andre. De er bare forskellige.
